Hurricane Prep for LWR Residents

Tuesday, June 6 at 9 AM - Event Registration Open

Shortly before landfall in September 2022, Hurricane Ian was forecast to make a direct hit on our area. Fortunately for LWR, it veered 50 miles south, leaving a devastating path of death and destruction just 50 miles to our south. Whether you live in a new construction house or a 20-year-old home, attending this 90-minute session will help prepare you, your family and your home for the 2023 Hurricane Season and beyond.

Learn about the extreme weather threats we face in Lakewood Ranch and what you can do to keep yourself and your family safe. We’ll cover the evacuate-or-stay decision, how to prepare if you choose to evacuate or go to a shelter, and how to prepare to shelter at home. Suggestions will be provided for supplies to have on hand and pet preparations.

Due to overwhelming response, LWR CERT is offering the same session twice in 2023. The June 6 and August 26 sessions will share the same information. There is no need to attend both.
