LWR CERT is always in one of six Readiness Conditions, ranging from RC 6 (Training) to RC 1 (Activate). The current Readiness Condition is displayed at the top of the Member Portal. As LWR CERT moves into and out of Readiness Conditions 4, 3, 2 or 1, an email will be sent to all current members and our response partners informing them of the change.

Readiness Condition 6 (Training)
We are not in hurricane season.
● Hold quarterly team meetings
● Identify limitations a member may have if activated.
● Ensure team member contact information is up to date.
● Lead team during training evolutions
Readiness Condition 5 (Awareness)
We are in hurricane season and no storm is expected within the next 96 hours.
● Inventory, restock, and organize personal/family hurricane checklist
● Inventory, restock and organize backpack
● Participate in training opportunities
● Engage with LWR CERT activities
● Hold quarterly team meetings to prepare members for hurricane season
● Contact all Team Members and verify their ability to participate
● Lead team during simulation exercises
● Test Incident Command radio ensure it is accessible
● Inventory Team Kit, restock as required, ensure Team Kit is accessible
Readiness Condition 4 (Preparation)
We are in the path of a storm and tropical storm force winds are expected in our area within 96 hours.

Readiness Condition 3 (Standby)
We are in the path of a storm and tropical storm force winds are expected in our area within 48 hours or a Hurricane Watch is issued for Manatee County.

We are in the path of a storm and tropical storm force winds are expected in our area within 36 hours or a Hurricane Warning is issued for Manatee County.
Unless notified otherwise: LWR CERT will go to Readiness Condition 1 (Activate) without further notification as soon as the storm passes

Readiness Condition 1 (Activate)
LWR CERT expects to activate as soon as the storm passes, and it is safe to leave shelter. Per CERT rules, individual activation is an individual decision by LWR CERT members.
