LWR CERT “Hurricane Athena” Exercise Update

The National Weather Service is tracking “Hurricane Athena” as it passes north of the Dominican Republic. It is a Category 5 Hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 180 mph traveling WNW at 17 mph. NHC forecasts the hurricane to reach Miami around 3:00 am Friday. It is expected to travel across the west coast Florida.

The LWR CERT Executive Committee is following the progress of the storm. Out of an abundance of caution, the EC has set Readiness Condition 4. Please conduct the appropriate actions in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures.
