  • Inventory, re-stock and organize CERT backpack
Preparation
<72 hours prior to impact
  • Take appropriate steps to ensure safety of home and family

  • Make individual “Stay” or “Evacuate” decision

  • Communicate individual “Stay” or “Evacuate” decision to LWR CERT when prompted

  • Check CERT equipment backpack
Standby
(48 hours prior to impact)
  • By this time, you should have communicated "Stay/Evacuate" decision to LWR CERT

If you elect to evacuate,
  • You should have evacuated by now

  • Take your LWR CERT Backpack with you in case of emergency

  • Keep LWR CERT advised of your evacuation location

If you elect to stay
  • Prepare family and home for storm and prepare for CERT deployment

  • Activation Manager will advise you of your team assignment

  • Charge or replace batteries on all battery-operated equipment (flashlights, walkie-talkies, etc.)

  • Remain on standby and monitor communications channels for updates
Alert
36 hours prior to impact
  • Check individual walkie-talkie with Group Leader to ensure operability

  • Monitor communications (telephone, email, text, etc.) for LWR CERT status updates
DeploymentWhen conditions are safe
  • Turn on walkie-talkie

  • Collect personal protection equipment and CERT backpack

  • Report to designated assembly area

    • Conduct preliminary damage assessment while en route

Upon deployment deactivation
  • Inventory contents of backpack and coordinate resupply with Logistics Committee
